SIGNS OF RESIDENCE – Florian Adolph, Axel Gerber, Daniel Scheffel

July 2025

The exhibition “Signs of residence” shows works by Florian Adolph, Axel Gerber and Daniel Scheffel. Florian Adolph and Daniel Scheffel are currently in Berlin for a 1.5-month artist residency. They are exploring signs as a reaction to current events. The results of their Berlin scholarship are now being presented with a dual local connection: together with works by their friend, Berlin artist Axel Gerber, in the long-standing Berlin exhibition space ROSALUX.

Florian Adolph (*1977) is an interdisciplinary artist working at the interface between digital and analogue media. He studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main, graduating as a master student. He is co-founder of the non-profit platform WAVA.ar and teaches digital art at h_da (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences).

Axel Gerber (*1978) studied painting at the Städelschule Frankfurt/Main (graduating as a master student) and at the UdK Berlin. He lives and works in Berlin. In addition to painting, he is a freelance teacher in the media sector.

Daniel Scheffel (*1977) lives in Frankfurt am Main. He works mainly in the medium of painting. His artistic work has been supported by various grants (e.g. Hessian Cultural Foundation, Goethe Institute, European Union, currently Residency Grant of the Herpel Foundation). He is a lecturer at the Frankfurt Painting Academy.
